     Hollywood and Madison avenue hype have painted cowboys as simpletons with no taste that survive on a diet of Beef, Beans and biscuits. The Gourmet Cowboy dispells that myth with over ninety ranch developed, cowboy approved recipes like:

Diamondback Stir Fry
This is another favorite recipe of Slop Sling which he would make on
cattle drives out of Diamondback Rattlesnakes to ensure that all of
the cattle would make it to market.
1 lb pork stew meat
8 oz pkg oriental noodles
1/2 head cabbage
1 bell pepper
1 medium onion
8 oz mushrooms
2 carrots
4 tsp sesame oil
1/2 c water
16 oz can fruit cocktail
1 tsp hot mustard powder
1 tsp ginger
1Tbl Arrowroot
Prepare noodles as per package instructions. Chop vegetables. Brown
pork with sesame oil in a wok on high heat. Add vegetables and water,
cover and cook three or four minutes or until most of the water
has evaporated. While meat and vegetables are steaming, reserve 1/2
of the juice from the fruit cocktail. Combine the remaining juice,
along with the fruit, hot mustard powder and ginger in a saucepan
over medium heat. Blend the Arrowroot with the reserved juice until
smooth and stir into the fruit mixture until it begins to thicken, then
remove from heat. Place meat and vegetables over noodles and top
with sauce.
Serves 5.
